Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2025-01-03T23:33Z ( ACE: MAG )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
ACE: MAG
ACE: SWEPAM
DSCOVR: PLASMAG
Activity ID: 2025-01-03T23:33:00-IPS-001 (version 1)
Quality of ICME Signature: -1 (unspecified)
Note: Onset of IPS beginning at approximately 2025-01-03T23:33Z characterized by a sudden jump in B_total from ~7nT to ~10nT before reaching a peak of ~17nT at 2025-01-04T02:24Z. This signature is also characterized by an increase in solar wind speed from ~400 km/s to ~650 km/s and is accompanied by a significant temperature increase. This complex signature is currently ongoing and is still under analysis; however, a couple of likely sources include a potential glancing blow from CME: 2025-01-01T02:24Z and the arrival of a Coronal Hole High Speed Stream.
